Should Draper Online Sellers Respond To Negative Reviews?

January 27th, 2012 by adamgreen

Should Draper Online Sellers Respond To Negative Reviews? As a mentor for new Draper online business owners, I am mindful of how search engine dynamics affect home based business owners with online stores.

There are two schools of thought about negative reviews: To respond or not to respond.

In an article in the Direct Selling News, author Don Sorenson very effectively explains why responding to negative reviews may increase the harm to your online reputation. I believe the points that Mr. Sorenson makes regarding negative reviews are important for every Draper online seller.

I quote from Mr. Sorenson’s article:

‘When you see a negative review about your company the instinctive reaction is to post a response to set the record straight. I understand the human need to respond, but you have to consider Google’s point of view. Here’s why: Search engines rank various websites high for a few reasons, one of which is relevant content, especially when that content is updated on a regular basis.’

‘When you post a comment on a website, you are in effect giving it new content. And if you get into a back-and-forth discussion with someone on a review website about your company, Google thinks ‘Ah, there’s a lot about this company here, so we’ll rank this website high for searches on their company name.’

‘Now when someone does a search on your company, they are even more likely to see the negative review. You want to avoid that. In fact, you want the websites with negative comments to slip further down the Google rankings so they don’t appear on the first page or two of a search.’ Don Sorenson, “Protecting Your Company’s Online Reputation,” Direct Selling News, March 2011, http://www.directsellingnews.com/index.php/site/entries_archive_display/protecting_your_companys_online_reputation April 2, 2011

Of course, Draper home business owners should respond to complaints by actual customers with legitimate problems. However, consider carefully whether your customer service efforts should take place in an online public forum.

Other social media experts believe it helps a company in the long run to respond to negative reviews. Here is a link to an article that supports this view: http://mackcollier.com/study-responding-to-negative/

I hope this helps Draper online business owners understand the ramifications of responding to negative online reviews. For more information about owning your own home based business in Draper, contact me today. I have helped hundreds of Draper entrepreneurs live their dream of business ownership.

Tips For Feeding Sick Draper Kids

January 20th, 2012 by adamgreen

Tips For Feeding Sick Draper Kids

Though the Salt Lake City media is more focused on rampant Draper childhood obesity, there are some underweight children in Utah.

When Salt Lake City kids refuse to eat, it is a challenge for Salt Lake City parents to make sure they get proper nutrition.

Understandably, Draper kids that usually eat normally often lose their appetite when they are sick. Kids who don’t eat much during a two-day bout with the flu will probably have no health issues from the temporary reduction in nutrition.

Draper children who undergo chemo treatment at Salt Lake City hospitals, however, are at greater risk for malnutrition. Ironically, this is the time when adequate calories, vitamins, and minerals are needed the most for ill Draper children.

Here are some suggestions for helping Salt Lake City kids with poor appetites receive adequate nutrition:

Don’t let your Draper child fill up on beverages before meals, serve liquids between meals
Offer small meals throughout the day
Always have healthy snacks available like protein bars, fruit, and cheese
Alter food temperature to see if it makes the food more appealing to your Salt Lake City child
Try smoothies and soups if your sick Draper child has a hard time swallowing
If your child is turned off by intense smells or flavors, try bland foods with little seasoning

I want every Draper child to receive excellent nutrition and the best healthcare available in Utah. I am excited about a new Salt Lake City children’s nutrition product and would love to tell you about it. Call me today for more information.

Healthy Draper Kids Are Well Rested

January 17th, 2012 by adamgreen

Healthy Draper Kids Are Well Rested

Getting an adequate amount of sleep is essential to the health of Draper kids. During sleep, muscles, skin, and bones actually grow and repair themselves. The immune system is recharged during sleep, so this is especially important during the Salt Lake City cold and flu season. Because the brain processes the stimulus and information it received during the previous day, sleep is crucial for healthy brain development.

Parents in the Alpine, Orem, and Provo areas should do everything they can to make bedtime work for their family. One of the most important things is for Salt Lake City parents to model healthy sleep behavior for their children.

If you want your child to follow a consistent bedtime schedule, you’ll need to follow one yourself.

It’s also important to check out your child’s sleep environment in your Salt Lake City home. What is the temperature and noise level of the room? White noise might help your child sleep better. Fans or humidifiers that can be purchased at any Provo Wal-Mart, Orem drug store, or Alpine Target store are inexpensive and do the job well.

Give your child a screen-free room in which to fall asleep. This means no TVs, computers, iPods, or cell phones. In fact, turning off all screens an hour or two before bedtime will help the whole family fall asleep on time.

Make sure you include the children in planning a bedtime routine and then stick to it. If they have trouble saying goodbye after you’ve tucked them in, try giving them a special security object like a blanket or stuffed animal to fall asleep with.

I’m Adam Green and children’s health is very important to me. I enjoy operating my own Draper home business that sells a nutritional chocolate product. If you are interested in learning more, visit my web site at AdamPaulGreen.com or call me today at 8018097766.

Fun Exercise Ideas For Alpine Kids

January 11th, 2012 by adamgreen

Fun Exercise Ideas For Alpine Kids

When I was growing up in Alpine, my friends and I never ran out of things to do, and most of our activities provided at least a little bit of exercise. I have fond memories of playing kick-the-can on warm summer nights and swimming at the old Alpine community pool.

Unfortunately, many of today’s Alpine kids spend hours daily in sedentary activities. Exercise benefits our physical, mental, and emotional health. Perhaps you might enjoy participating in some of these with your son or daughter.

Fun exercise suggestions:

  • Fly a kite (It’s even more fun if you sing the song from Mary Poppins while you are doing it.)
  • Wheels: bike, skateboard, longboard, inline skates, rip stick, scooter (don’t forget a helmet!)
  • Rake the yard
  • Hula hoop (The Alpine Wal-Mart carried them last time I checked.)
  • Martial arts
  • Juggling
  • Hacky sack
  • Badminton
  • Weight lifting
  • Hopscotch
  • Jump-roping
  • Tug-of-war

I am concerned about the state of children’s health in Utah and like to share information about health issues in my blog. If you are looking for a low-fat, high antioxidant chocolate product that tastes like a diet-buster, call me today. I sell Xobiotic and Nugget, two tasty treats that help my kids stay healthy.

Choose Healthy Kids Snacks In Draper

January 5th, 2012 by adamgreen

Choose Healthy Kids Snacks In Draper My name is Adam Green and I am a children’s health advocate in Draper, Utah. Most Utah parents notice behavioral effects when they feed their kids highly processed foods full of sugar and additives.

Salt Lake City elementary teachers advise sending fruit, vegetables, and protein in children’s lunches and leaving processed, sugary snacks at home. They notice that Draper children who eat healthy learn and behave better.

When shopping at your Salt Lake City grocery store you may want to start reading labels on snacks more carefully. A recent study conducted by Britain’s Food Standards Agency (their version of the FDA) found that seven dyes could affect children’s intelligence by up to five IQ points! When reading Utah food labels check for Yellow #5, Yellow #6, and Red #40. In fact, Red #40 is banned in several European countries.

My kids love dried apricots, raisins, sliced apples with sunflower seed butter, and snap peas. If you would like more information on improving your Draper child’s health and nutrition through healthy snacking please contact me today! – Adam Paul Green

Healthy Skin for Draper Kids

January 5th, 2012 by adamgreen

Healthy Skin for Draper Kids

Hi! Welcome to my Draper children’s health blog. Today’s topic is ‘Healthy Skin for Draper Children.’

The skin is the body’s largest organ, and it’s easy to take for granted all that our skin does for us. It is our first defense against germs, it regulates body temperature, it gives us the sense of touch, and so much more. This organ is always hard at work and parents in the Salt Lake City area need to be sure it’s working well for their children.

A common skin problem in our Utah climate is simple irritation. Irritated skin is more likely to crack, which can increase the risk for infection. If your child’s skin is irritated, look around at some of the products in your home that may be causing it. Soaps, detergents, dryer sheets, and other household cleaners all have chemicals and fragrances that can be irritating. Draper parents can try switching brands or reducing use of these products.

Basic skin care for children should include moisturizing after bathing, using fragrance-free products, and practicing good sun protection. If dry skin is an issue for your child, pick up a humidifier at any Alpine, Orem, or Provo drugstore and allow it to run in your child’s room while they sleep.

If simple skin irritation can’t be controlled, or if your child develops other skin issues, make sure to take them to your Draper pediatrician.

My name is Adam Green and I want to help Draper families raise healthy, happy kids. My Salt Lake City home business sells Nugget. If you are interested in learning more, visit my website at AdamPaulGreen.com or give me a call at 8018097766.

Salt Lake City Injuries: Get The Ice, Fast!

January 3rd, 2012 by adamgreen

Salt Lake City Injuries Get The Ice Fast!

If your Salt Lake City kids are active on the field, the court, or in your own backyard, chances are you have dealt with many bumps, bruises, and sprains. Prompt medical care can make all the difference when it comes to how quickly an injury heals.

Despite medical advancements, when it comes to a sprain, strain, break, or bruise, the best way to reduce pain and swelling is the same as when you were a kid: apply ice.

For the best DIY ice bag, fill a zip-top bag with ice cubes or crushed ice and a little water. The liquid will help the bag conform to the body and distribute the cold evenly. You can also use the frozen peas trick, which does essentially the same thing.

Don’t apply the bag to bare skin, however. This could cause frostbite or even a burn. Wrap the pack in a thin towel or article of clothing.

Don’t take the ice off too soon. Removing it after just a few minutes, when the skin is cold to the touch, won’t have a lasting effect. Leave ice on the injury until the area goes numb, but not more than 20 minutes. Repeat this once an hour for up to four hours.

Remember to get the ice on as soon as possible. Preventing and reducing inflammation speeds up the healing process. The sooner you get ice on it, the sooner your Salt Lake City child will be back in action.

The Right Bedtime Snack Can Help Draper Kids Fall Asleep

December 29th, 2011 by adamgreen

The Right Bedtime Snack Can Help Draper Kids Fall Asleep

Provo parents know that sleep is important for their child’s health. If your Draper child has a hard time falling asleep, you may want to try a bedtime snack. Well-chosen evening snacks can help ease the transition to sleep.

Eating too much before bedtime is never a good idea for anyone, but a small snack may be just the ticket to dreamland for little ones in Provo. Foods containing the amino acid tryptophan are a natural sleep aid, especially if they are coupled with carbohydrates, which help make tryptophan more available to the brain.

Bedtime foods you can purchase at your local Draper grocer include soy milk, dairy products, nuts, seeds, and legumes, such as lentils or chick peas. These foods coupled with a healthy carbohydrate make the perfect bedtime snack. Your Draper kiddos will be visiting the sandman before you know it.

Try a glass of soy milk with a few whole grain crackers or string cheese and apple slices. Low-fat cottage cheese with pineapple helps my munchkins fall asleep.

I am a local Xobiotic representative and a children’s health advocate. If you live in Salt Lake City, Provo, or Orem and would like to learn more about children’s health contact me today!
